A message of hope and a way forward, channeled from the Great Mother
A message was pushing to come through me. The Great Mother who some call Sophia, The Divine Feminine frequency, had a message to share. I channel through writing, so I feverishly wrote it all down in my journal and transcribed it here. My angels and guides speak through me in a repetitive fashion, so forgive the redundant syntax, however I feel it is lyrical and quite beautiful.
I want the world to know that everything is working out for its highest good. I know it seems darker right now, more muddied and muddled, but that is only because the luminescence of light is brighter, there is more light in the world. When you walk into a dark room, it is hard to see how dirty and cluttered it is with what is no longer needed in the home. You may choose to leave the lights off because the filth is overwhelming. But when you are ready to clean up the mess because of the discomfort it causes, you find the courage to flip on the lights. At first, you are in shock by the mess that lies before you. Things seem worse than before. Nothing has truly changed or gotten worse; it just seems that way because you can see now. And so it is with your world. In this way, I hope to illustrate that it is because there is more light getting in through the cracks that the world looks “worse.”
But then your courage returns, so you call and gather your friends, order a pizza and begin to clean up, piece by piece.
There is nothing to fear. The planet is healing, transitioning, changing, growing, ascending and birthing a new way of existing. This is a season of cleansing and releasing what no longer serves you individually and collectively. Jocelyn likes to compare this to relationships that are no longer aligned — to know it is time for change in your life, in your job, in your romantic partnership, things have to get really uncomfortable, painful, for you to be open to releasing and walking away from what hurts. You would never enact change if you were happy, satisfied and comfortable. “Pain is the touchstone of growth,” as they say in your recovery literature.
If humanity knows that this “mess” the world is in is only a passageway, a contracting birth canal, to a new and better way, then they can more easily move through the fear, release the fear and hold the vision. The same way a mother can get through the grueling process of giving birth, or an artist gets through the creation of her art, she holds the vision of the new life coming forth, she envisions the child in her arms, her future with her child, her new life as a mother. The artist envisions the complete work, showing it in galleries, changing lives with what she created through emotional and intellectual connections of heart. The writer gets through the grueling process of writing the article or book, because he holds the vision of the impact the book will have, the ways it could possibly serve his fellow humans.
Like the mother in labor, the artist in process, or the flower in bloom, the butterfly that pushes through the chrysalis, her body knows what to do. The idea that the mother or the artist or butterfly can manage every step of renewal on their own is an illusion. A birth plan is an illusion that you have control over how that baby is going to come into the world. But this may come as a relief — the body knows what to do because her body is nature. The heart knows what to do. The birth plan is our participation in the process, yes, but it should never be a method of controlling the process. That baby, that artwork, that book is going to come when it is ready to come. No need to show up to the bus station before the bus is due to arrive.
She will know when to push and when to rest, or when to create and when to pause. This is the feminine way, which can and should be embraced by both men and women, as feminine and masculine energy is to be divorced from gender, so relax into the flow of nature, your nature. The earth knows, and you know, when and how to move forward during this time of transition and seeming destruction. Destruction is of the old. It only feels horrible, but it is leading to something new, something different, something better. The caterpillar’s body quite literally dissolves before it can become the butterfly. The mother’s body vastly changes becoming unfamiliar to her to birth the new life. The ways you will know how to move forward are by sitting in the quiet and pure spaces inside your own heart and listening. This process starts by removing distractions, getting rid of clutter, packing light, and cleaning house. It happens by walking into that dark attic and turning on the lights. This is true on a macro and micro level, for the universal law of correspondence resonates here: as above so below, as within, so without. If you cling too tightly to the creature comforts of your life that distract, the Universe has a way of helping you remove those things by making you uncomfortable. You have all already begun to experience this through your pandemic.
You may not know the details of the entire path ahead. One of the beautiful things about being human is that because you are not omniscient, there is an element of discovery. Also, not knowing some things is better. Would a mother ever have the child if she knew all the ins and outs of childbirth and raising a human? Maybe. Maybe not. And what fun would that be? Think of the joy of a child on a scavenger hunt, well, you are no different in this intelligently designed and synchronistic life. Nothing is an accident. Clues are everywhere if you have the eyes to see and the ears to hear, which comes after some intentional efforts to heal and clear your channel so the muses can sing their song to your creative heart.
Yes, all of you are creative. Even Jocelyn, the left-brained logician, is a creative, much to her surprise.
You will know when to push and when to relax with each moment that arrives. But you must stay in the present for this to work. The present is where actual living is, where joy is. It is what is real. A mentor once gave Jocelyn an assignment: make a list of all the things she was afraid of, all the things she feared. Then she had to make a list of all the things she was grateful for. The second list is truth, rooted in love and in the present. The first list is all fantasy, made up and in the future or past. This allowed her to see just how important it was to stay in the present. Gratitude and joy are the language of the eternal now, the present. This is where joy is. Joy is holy. Joy puts you in a vibration that lifts you into heaven on earth, no matter what is crumbling around you.
Yes, be discerning. Yes, be prudent. This optimism is not to be confused with what you call “toxic positivity” or “rose-colored glasses.” It does not promote delusion or denial. To release fear doesn’t mean to ignore it or that something is wrong if you are afraid. Fear is a part of the human condition. It requires that you are awake, not sleepwalking. You can be awake, afraid and also imagine a better way, holding the vision. Imagination is a very different thing from delusion, and it has been conflated with fiction for far too long. Imagination is what births the vision into reality. What kind of world do you dream of? What can you imagine? Whatever it is, what’s possible is even more beautiful.
Your vision for this new world is needed. Vision can become clouded by fear, which is why it is so important to face fear and soon enough, move through it and release it. Trust the wisdom of the divine intelligence that flows through you and all of life, it is the same intelligence that tells the flower when to bloom and the butterfly when to emerge. It is the same intelligence that tells the mother she is in labor. Trust. Trust the wisdom of nature. You have every reason to lose faith in some of your fellow humans, but you have every reason to trust in the rhythm of nature, the rhythm of your heartbeat in unison with the universal heartbeat.
You do not have to micromanage all of the details of this life in order to live it. Do you think the bird has her life all figured out? Does she have a birth plan, a business plan, a road map? Is she worried if there will be enough seeds and worms to eat that day? No. She follows her sweet little animal instincts. She trusts without even forcing herself to trust. She trusts in the unfolding of the day before her. She trusts in the abundance that exists in nature. A healer once told Jocelyn there is enough sun for everyone. Nature provides like the unconditionally loving Mother she is. The sun is proof of the abundance of nature.
Panic, while understandable during times of great change, doesn’t serve you. It does not benefit you or the collective. When swimming in the ocean, if the fear of drowning washes over you and you begin to panic, you flail and waste unnecessary energy and risk drowning. If you stay calm, float on your back and gently paddle when you feel it is time to paddle, both you and the waves will carry you to shore. You see, it is a collaboration of efforts. This is true for all things, even birthing a child or a painting or a book. Nothing could get done in fight or flight mode. Your collective is becoming familiar with the research of what happens to the brain in that case.
Jocelyn once learned about how thoughts can be like trains. When the fear train pulls up, try not to get in. If you must get in, don’t follow it to the end of the line. Get off at the next stop as soon as you notice the train is not going in the direction you wish to go. When she lived in Rome, the places at the end of the metro line were the less desirable parts of the city. Yes, she always found her way back, but next time she knew not to ride it to the end of the line and to pay attention. Be awake. Be aware. No, this does not mean to worry or be hyper-vigilant. It just means to be awake, to be sober, to not be drunk on the things of your world that lull you to sleep and separate you from your true nature.
You are safe. You are held. You are guided and protected. You are not alone. The only times your lives are ever “disastrous” is when you believe in the lie that you are apart from the truth of all there is, the lie of separation. You hold the power to turn away from the sun or turn toward the sun. Whatever you do, the sun is always there, always waiting, like the unconditionally loving Father it is, always providing. You hold the power to alchemize all past experiences into a better future, for yourself and your brothers and sisters. Freedom is in your mind. You are always free.
Once you do the work to clean out that old attic, removing all the fear, the unworthiness, the lack of self-love, the lie of separation, the panic, you can open the blinds and let more light in and admire the work. You have now created space to sit in the quiet space of your own home, the beautiful and quiet spaces of your heart. Begin to feel into that space and ask it what brings you joy. When you do this, a path will begin to open up to you. It is a path of resonance, a path forward, directions on your individual road maps to the new world.
These moments of joy are also trail markers into all the ways you can serve humanity through the things that bring you joy.
How do you know what brings you joy, you may ask? What resonates with you? Then ask yourself why it resonates for you. We will use Jocelyn as an example. She loves horses and horseback riding, reading, hiking, nurturing budding writers and established journalists alike, hosting intimate dinner parties, writing, running, being in nature, swimming in lakes in the warm summer sun, the movie The Lion King, snow skiing in the mountains of Colorado, studying ancient wisdom - metaphysics and philosophy, ancient architecture. OK, we will stop there even though the list goes on.
What do these things tell her about her path forward? Horses are pure communicators. They heal. They mirror and reflect back the truth of the rider in the purest way. They love a strong leader, but the leader must be kind and meet them where they are, it must be in service to the horse. The leader must communicate in a way that earns the horse’s trust. Force, or worse, abuse, will not get the horse to its fullest potential. The horse learns to follow the leader and get that leader where she needs to go through authentic and kind communication. The leader, whether it is the leader of the pack of horses or the horseback rider leading the horse through the ring or field, helps the horse serve its purpose. Horses love to have a purpose. It is their joy to carry humans on their backs toward their destination, but only if respected and if the rider is confident and loving. Horses smell fear from 20 feet away. They can feel a human's heartbeat from six feet away. Jocelyn respects nonfiction writing that has pure intentions based in love, stories that unite and lead others into a cause. The Lion King was a beautiful example of servant leadership, and taking your place in the vast circle of life that connects all of humanity. I believe you understand the example now. Do an investigation on your own life and see what clues are hiding right under your nose about your true and joyful path forward in this new age.
Humans can get off track when they resist their true nature and the things that bring them joy. They believe in some story that they have to be someone else, someone “better.” They find external validation in “sexy” titles in the workplace, or powerful patterns that they walk arm in arm with. Jocelyn edited a story last week for a magazine about a woman who left her career as an NFL agent to create collage vintage pop art. The work she did for the NFL made her feel “powerful and sexy,” but for all the wrong reasons. It was breaking her true self down. When she moved into a softer existence and slower pace and began to create what she loved, she found her joy. And it all started in a selfless act—she created a piece to celebrate her new husband’s 20-year sobriety birthday.
Here, I encourage humanity to borrow from the ancient wisdom of nature. The squirrel doesn’t try to be a turtle. Trees honor their treeness and don’t confuse themselves to be a river. Yet they all hang in the perfect balance of their individual natures to create an ecosystem, each one providing and each one needing the others’ gifts.
Zoom out, way way out. You are millions of tiny beings on a little rock in space in the known universe. Come together, drop what no longer matters, follow the path to joy and heal your planet.
Jocelyn: When I was finished channeling this message, I asked the Great Mother if there was anything else. She asked me to pull a card from Rebecca Campbell’s Starseed Oracle deck. The card I pulled was titled “Perspective.” It is a black space with a tiny image of Earth on it. I share here some of what Campbell channeled in the accompanying guidebook.
“We are but a speck of dust in the universe, yet we think everything revolves around us. We see the planet as ours to own and conquer, pillaging the land and setting ourselves up for our eventual extinction. We build fences and walls and create invisible borders [...]
We become so lost in our individual experience that we don’t realize that most of the things that keep us awake at night are actually distractions. We’re wasting our precious time and resources fighting each other when we should be coming together to heal what’s been severed.
This moment is a breath in the timeline of your life. This life is a fleeting moment in the tapestry of your soul's experience. Your soul's experience is a flash in the timeline of the known Universe. And the known Universe is a grain of sand in the unknown Universe. Take a moment to see the bigger picture. To find common ground. To find deep compassion in your heart. To gain a greater perspective of humanity in this fleeting moment, and the timeline of your soul's existence, and the timeline of all that is, was, and ever will be.”
